Areas of focus

Adolescents and students

The formative years, when so much is taking shape.

What you might recognize

These are years of constant change: who you are, where you’re headed, and what you’re supposed to have figured out already. A lot of what feels overwhelming is part of finding your way, while other things need real attention. I’m here to help you tell the difference carefully, without rushing to medicate or waiting too long.

Sometimes the first sign is academic pressure that stopped being motivating, or focus that changed when the workload did. Maybe it’s a new anxiety. For some, it’s the first low stretch that raises the question: is this the start of something more persistent, or just a hard year? For others, it’s identity and self-understanding shifting in a world where that isn’t simple. Whatever brings you in, we can take it one piece at a time.

What you might
wonder about

Is this just part of growing up?Sometimes, and sorting that out is where our work begins. If something is getting in the way of your life, it’s worth looking at.
What stays between us?When we start, I explain what stays private and how that might change around safety. We agree together on how involved any caregivers will be.
Will I have to take medication?Medication is one option, not the default plan. When it’s worth considering, I’ll explain the tradeoffs and we decide together.
What if your world is different from mine? Then you’ll be the one who knows it best, and I’ll follow your lead. I won’t decide what it means for you — we get there together, in your own time.
