Sex therapy for couples

Sex is where a lot of other things show up.

What you might recognize

Partners often come in after a long stretch of not knowing how to talk about it. Desire may have drifted apart until it became a story about who wants and who withholds, or gone somewhere hard to reach after a birth, an illness, or a betrayal. Pain, or worry that your body won’t cooperate, can build an anxiety of its own. Often what’s happening in bed and what’s happening between you outside of it are tangled together. Something has to feel safe before it can be wanted. In time, partners can find their way back to intimacy — and to each other.

Coming in together

If you raised it first

Bringing up sex takes courage for almost everyone, and you’ve already done it. You don’t need the right words or a plan, just a sense of what you miss or hope for. We’ll find the language, and the closeness, together.

If someone raised it with you

No one is here to be blamed or shamed for what has changed, and there’s no judgment about what you want or what’s been hard. We simply start with curiosity about each of you and what you share.
